Exercise helps prevent high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, poor circulation, obesity, joint and bone problems. It can also provide valuable social contact, reduce anxiety, help with depression and make you feel more alert, energetic and cheerful. Talk to your doctor about different types of exercise or contact a qualified instructor to discuss your particular needs or any physical conditions that might be affected. It is important to take it slowly at first. Be aware of your limitations and build up your exercise gently. Some exercising ideas: walking, swimming, cycling, tennis, badminton, keep fit or aerobics, yoga, Pilates, tai chi, golf, dance, gym and bowling.
